When mcgarrybowen came to us with the Verizon Indy Car project, these were some of the descriptions they put on the table. The cars were fast, and so was the timeline for the shoot. None of this was a problem once we assembled the right team.
Indycar photographer Andy Batt was hired to create the "apollo 13" or "the right stuff" heroic moment. Mcgarrybowen commissioned action photographer Andy Batt because of his dramatic lighting techniques and experience capturing high-intensity speed. "I wanted to create that quintessential image of the drivers as heroes, surrounded by their pit crew, but not overshadowed by them. We scouted all the surrounding areas of charlotte motor speedway- and the best area by far was under the stands."
